Katherine Cahalan received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. She has studied viola with such renowned New York teachers as Patinka Kopec and William Lincer. She is the consummate chamber musician and has participated in many chamber groups throughout her professional career. In fact, she trained with some of the foremost coaches in her field, including Ani Kavafian and Daniel Phillips. For the past 23 years, Katherine has performed with various chamber ensembles and orchestral groups, including Vintage String Musicians. Other ensembles include the St. Martin Symphony, Westchester Symphony Orchestra, Great Neck Philharmonic, Regina Opera Company, and The Hampton Chamber Orchestra. Katherine is also quite an educator and enjoys teaching young people the art of string playing, both privately, and in the public school system on Long Island.
